At the Jesus and Mary Academy, a Roman Catholic girls' school in Buenos Aires, two 14-year-old students were uncomfortable describing their sex lessons. Last year, they learned about fertility and sex organs ("That was embarrassing!" says one). This term they discussed the process of giving birth, but they weren't sure what else to learn. Teachers declined to answer some questions from their classmates who were allowed to register anonymously. "They said it wasn't appropriate to talk about it at school and we could ask our families about these things," another recalled.
